ASK Resource Center’s 2017 Symposium with Dr. Ann Turnbull

Join us at ASK’s Annual Symposium for an engaging day of learning and networking! This year’s featured speaker is Dr. Ann Turnbull, a Retired Distinguished Professor of Special Education from the University of Kansas who has authored 32 books and over 275 articles. Most importantly, she is a parent and a pioneer of our nation’s parent to parent movement. Dr. Turnbull will present her workshop, “Creating ‘Win-Win-Win’ Conditions through Trusting Partnerships.”
GOAL OF THE TRAINING Dr. Ann Turnbull engages her audience through sharing her personal experiences of lessons learned with lose-lose-lose and win-win-win situations. From this foundation, she breaks down trusting partnerships into 6 key principles: Communication, Competence, Respect, Commitment, Equality and Advocacy. Ann provides on overview of the six principles and shares strategies families and professionals can use to build and maintain the principles over time.
FEES & REGISTRATION Fee is $65 for families & students and $85 for professionals, and a limited number of exhibit tables are available at $100 for nonprofit and $150 for for profit organizations.
CEU & TRAINING CREDIT Offering continuing education and training credits for Social Work*, LMFT*, LMHC*, Behavioral Health & Substance Abuse Professionals*, Foster Parents and Graduate Students. Credit hours and cost details are available at www.askresource.org/symposium.
