Mission and Vision

The Learning Disabilities Association of Iowa is dedicated to identifying causes and promoting prevention of learning disabilities and to enhancing the quality of life for all individuals with learning disabilities and their families by:

  • Encouraging effective identification and intervention,
  • Fostering research, and
  • Protecting the rights of individuals with learning disabilities under the law.

  • All individuals with learning disabilities are empowered to thrive and to participate fully in society;
  • The incidence of learning disabilities is reduced by appropriate prevention practices; and
  • Learning disabilities are universally understood and effectively addressed.

The Learning Disabilities Association of Iowa has been in existence for almost 50 years!  Learn more about our history.

Dedicated parents, educators, and professionals from all over the state have volunteered to serve on our Board of Directors.

The Learning Disabilities Association of Iowa has worked with other organizations to help persons with disabilities.

It is our hope that by working together we can forge ahead with the important work that needs to be done to strengthen the lives of individuals who struggle to learn. We look forward to forming more partnerships to continue this important work.
