LDA of Iowa is seeking dedicated persons to serve on the Iowa board of directors who are passionate about improving the quality of life for individuals with learning disabilities and their families. 

The board meets five times a year, including the annual meeting held during our annual conference. Board members are not paid to participate in any projects or work for LDA-IA. There is no reimbursement to attend meetings or the state conference, but some expenses are tax-deductible. Terms are for three years; there is also an option to serve as a one-year presidential appointee.

In order to be a successful board member, individuals need to be committed to giving their time, talents and treasures. Each member brings special talents to the board which is very important for committees and project assignments. In addition, board members are encouraged to make an annual pledge to LDA-IA. Any amount is accepted, seen only as a gesture of the board member’s commitment to the organization.
